Inductee to the Polo Hall of Fame

Thomas Hitchcock, Jr.
Elected April 6, 1990

Thomas Hitchcock, Jr. celebrated his sixteenth year by winning both the U.S. Junior and Senior Polo Championships. He represented his country in international competition on eight occasions, winning the Westchester Cup against England at age 21. At the height of his polo career, POLO magazine said, "There never can be a question about the amazing performance of Mr. Thomas Hitchcock, Jr., in this series of 1927. No one who has not seen a ten goal player play fifteen goal polo can imagine the stark power of this youth."

That he was one of the very finest ten goal polo players of all time is beyond doubt, and he has left a great legacy for polo players everywhere.
